Community Garden

A community garden for growing or sitting and watching the world go by. We grow vegetables on one side and flowers on the other with raised beds for wheelchair gardeners. We have a bee friendly flower bed planted by a local bee group and a butterfly bed. This year we aim to grow flowers for pot pourri for winter fragrance. 

Vegetable bring and share, pick your own and leave a donation,  grow your own. So far we have grown garlic, onions, shallots, french beans , runner beans, borlotti beans, broad beans, climbing french beans, peas, kohl rabi, beetroot, tomatoes (drought resistant), squash, courgettes and lots of herbs. This year we will be experimenting with ginger.

Events to date: an apple day pressing apples from all around the area, scarecrow-making by the Brownies, Beavers planting session-look for the wellie boots filled with herbs, birthday tea party, picnics, songs of praise, pop up tabletop sales, barbecue,  sunflower competition…. anything goes. There is no charge for booking the space and all are welcome to make use of it for their own events.

Our garden club meets on Sunday mornings 10.00-12.00
